kakudako Kite kakudako Kites

New to North America, the New Kakudako kite is a Japanese classic that defines simplicity. This makes it both a wonderful introduction to traditional Japanese kite making, and an excellent beginner kite.

The new Kakudako (Pronounced: Ka ku da ko): is a rectangle of natural ‘washi’ paper that is brought to life by the addition of an elegant frame of real bamboo. A plastic connector holds the bamboo in place simplifying assembly. The individual kits can also be hooked together to form a ‘train’ of almost any size! Thus this relatively small kite can be turned into a group project with a theme to create a giant that will enthrall any crowd. Easy to make and to decorate, the New Kakudako is a fun way to educate and entertain beginners. Washi is a Japanese paper and is generally stronger than wood pulp paper. Decorate with inks, dyes, paint, markers, crayons or collage.

The washi paper can be decorated with inks, dyes, paint, markers, crayons or collage.

Measures 15.25″ H x 10.5″ W. Wind Range 5 to 15 mph.
